Join the AWLA as we celebrate spring!
Cheers to all our shelter friends… and Prince Michel Winery!
The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is pleased to be named as this month’s beneficiary of Prince Michel’s “First Dollar Program.” For every $5 wine tasting enjoyed at the Prince Michel Tasting Room (1309 King Street in Old Town Alexandria), $1 will be donated to the AWLA. Whether you love pets or wine, this is a wonderful way to sample Prince Michel’s award-winning wines!
The tasting room is open Sunday through Wednesday from noon until 6 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday, noon until 8 p.m. This benefit continues throughout the month of April, so bring some friends, have a glass and help our homeless animals! On Thursday, April 29th, the League will be doubly honored at the tasting room. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., $2.50 from every $5 wine tasting will be donated to the AWLA.
Whatever day you visit, enjoy the wonderful wine and know you are helping our homeless animals!
Join us for a Canine Spring Fling!
All canine shelter graduates are welcome for an afternoon of fun on Sunday, April 25th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. as we host a spring-themed canine reunion! Bring your AWLA graduate for an afternoon in our play yard with dog games, treats and fun. Last October, more than 50 AWLA grads came back for an afternoon romp, and we’d love to welcome even more this time! Stop by for a quick hello, or plan to spend the afternoon and exhaust your pooch with activities, treats and fun. This event is free and open to all dogs adopted through the AWLA.
…And a Rabies Vaccination Clinic
Also on Sunday, April 25th, the AWLA will host a rabies vaccination clinic at the shelter from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. A veterinarian will vaccinate any pets needing either a one- or three-year rabies vaccination. If you would like your pet to receive a three-year-vaccination, you will need to provide the appropriate documentation that your pet’s rabies shot is still current. Otherwise, a one-year vaccination will be given. Rabies vaccinations cost $10, payable by cash or check only. Appointments are not necessary. Please make sure that all dogs are on leash and cats are in a carrier. Call 703-838-4774 ext. 225 for more information.
