Last month, a sweet German Shepherd puppy arrived at the League in desperate need of help. Prior to herarrival at the shelter, this puppy, who we named Ragan, suffered a severe trauma to her leg requiring surgery to repair the leg and offer her the promise of a pain-free future. Ragan’s surgery was successful, and she has spent the past few weeks recuperating in foster care.
Ragan was not the only dog at the League in need of special care.
Recently, we met another dog with significant medical concerns. At first glance, we thought that Turbo, a badly-matted Havanese, needed a thorough grooming. We quickly realized that hair matting on his face concealed severe abscesses. He was seen by veterinarians and underwent surgery to clean the wounds and begin his healing process.
More great news for Turbo: he was adopted this week!
Despite their serious conditions, the League was glad to help Ragan and Turbo. Through Sarah’s Fund, a fund designated solely for homeless pets who need more than routine medical care, the League is able to provide the treatment that these and other pets need before finding their adoptive homes.
Please consider a contribution to Sarah’s Fund. Your support will help us to defray Ragan’s and Turbo’s medical costs and make sure that we can provide the same care for other homeless pets in need.
